We’re thrilled to introduce Meghann Hanvey as Women in Philanthropy’s new Vice President of Membership. If her values are any indication, our community is in exceptional hands.
Meghann is an Arizona native through and through. She grew up in Tempe, attended ASU, and has built her life and career right here in the Valley. Today, she’s married to her college sweetheart, mom to a spirited five-year-old daughter and a one-year-old golden retriever who keep the whole family on their toes, and the founder of Aurora Talent Lab, a talent acquisition consultancy that helps clients nationwide streamline their hiring.
But it’s her why that makes her the perfect fit for this role.
Showing Up Consistently
When asked what giving back means to her, Meghann’s answer was simple and powerful: “It’s about showing up consistently and using my time, resources, and network to support causes I care about, both locally and globally.”
That commitment to consistency is exactly what WIP is built on. Women who don’t just care about the community in theory, but who show up, roll up their sleeves, and make things happen.
Paying It Forward
Meghann is the first to acknowledge how fortunate she’s been. “I’ve been lucky to be surrounded by a supportive group of women throughout my personal life and career, and I know that can be rare,” she shares. Now, she makes it a point to mentor younger women navigating their personal and professional goals, because she knows firsthand how transformative that kind of support can be.
It’s a spirit that fits right at home in our community of women who lift each other up.
What She’s Looking Forward To
Ask Meghann what excites her most about her first year with WIP, and she’ll tell you it’s the impact. “The impact we’re going to make on the community! I’m also looking forward to building relationships centered around a common goal, which is making a difference in the lives of our PHX kiddos.”
She also shared something that resonated deeply with us: “Our cofounders are dedicated to the mission and it’s inspiring to watch them in action.” We feel the same way about her.
Welcome, Meghann.
We are so grateful to have you leading our membership and we can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together for the children and families of Phoenix.
